Ford Ranger Paintless Dent Repair Video

For anyone reading and watching this paintless dent removal repair I performed, I have to tell you, it was not easy. It took me 6 hours and 22 minutes to remove about 90-95% (In my opinion). The edge was jacked up! Any veteran pdr techs who have worked on Ford metal understand the level of difficulty it involved doing this dent. Of course I used heat to prevent the edge of the paint from completely cracking. From the beginning it already had paint cracked on the inside edge because of the initial impact.

Why I took this dent on was for two reasons. The forst reason I thought it would be pretty cool to test out my new camera rig - Canon 7D. Two, to keep myself learning and seeing how well I could get the edge out. Now I thought I could get it out closer to 100% but since the paint was blown already from the inside, I did not want to take a chance of it splitting any further. As mentioned, I used heat and a lot of it. I plan to talk about this dent in the Glue Pull Practicals dvd as well. Lots of awesome good stuff in there too!

This pdr dent repair tool me a lot longer than I thought and I could not get the same feel because I started too late and obviously finished too late. But I hope you enjoy the presentation of the video and perhaps learn something - even though I did not explain any techniques.

Take care and thanks for reading and watching. Please visit www.denttime.com for more info.

My Newest Video Rig / Zacuto Meets Redrock / Crossbreed

As most of you know already I am heavily into filming video. I am asked a lot about my cameras and equipment. As of now I have three different rig set ups. Depending what I am shooting and how, my need for different rigs are crucial. This one happens to be a run n gun set up that allows me to mount a 1080I Canon vixia hfs100 and the Canon 7D that is capable of stills and shooting full 1080p. But some of you are saying to yourselves, "why do that when the 7d can do it all?" Well unfortunately the 7D can't stay in focus all the time and I need that instant focus when moving around. That is why I mounted the Vixia. I can cross shoot what ever I want and if need be, concentrate on a cinematic shot with my 7D. It's a win - win situation for me.

Now this is not ideal for most videographers but I think it is for weddings, car events, interviews or whatever. But I use it for my paintless dent repair and bumper repair videos mostly. I don't really miss a thing with my crossbreed camera rig made from Zacuto "rapid fire" and Redrock Micro

Here are some photos of the crossbreed rig with the following gear.

Canon Vixia HF S100
Cannon Directional Microphone
Canon 7D
Rhode Video Mic
Zacuto Viewfinder
Zacuto Rapid Fire
Redrock Micro Hand Grip

New Bentley Dent Repair Video / Not too Flashy but Professional

Bentley Dent Repair Short / Canon 7d / Indi Slider Mini from Myke Toledo on Vimeo.

I decided to do a much more simple video but step up the cinematography dramatically. This was a newer 2009 Bentley Brooklands. My technician "Bebo" was the one who performed the work so i could actually concentrate on filming for once.

One thing I like more than anything is shooting video. It has to be a good video or I won't edit or even release it to the public. I have so much other vehicles I have done that seem interesting for paintless dent or bumper repair but I hate shaky video! In my early days I didn't understand what I was doing. Now, I think I am taking a film maker approach. I like to stay fresh and think of new ideas. Some I want to do more than once but behind the scenes there is a lot of preparation. I like to do things right but it can get pricey and over budget. So I guess I will have to keep working after all.. what a bummer. Oh well, that's life so I can't complain too bad. I love to keep my videos interesting so here's one that I hope you have enjoyed if you did not watch already.

Take care
