Upcoming Big Dent Repair Video
I had a nice dent to do before Labor Day weekend and this dent I had to say was a nice little challenge. Very stretched, sharp and hard to handle dent that had a crazy crown just one inch about the body line. I won't give too much away but let's say you will definitely want to see how it went. Stay tuned as I will explain the details later. Meanwhile take a sneak peek at the iPhone dent video.

PDR Training Update with Dano Week 1
Well I have been lately training Dan the art of paintless dent repair, soon to be (DanoDents.com). I am planning to video his first week progress, which I think will surprise most of you. Earlier today, I took a sharp knockdown and stabbed the panel and caused a very deep and sharp dent. If I told you he removed it out 100% I would be lying. But truthfully ( only his 3rd day) he removed it about 85% without oil canning or cracking paint.
Removing such a deep dent involves a ton of patience, the right tools and accurate pin pointing. Dan is doing remarkably well. His background is a certified BMW mechanic with a knack for detail. A perfect candidate for learning paintless dent removal.
Please check back sometime next week and see how his progress is going.

Deep Paintles Dent Repair Training / New Training Articles
Hey everyone, I had a similar article up before about deep ding repairs but I wrote an article more in depth about my past trainee and his progress. I also spoke about more candid truth to paintless dent repair training. If you happen to be interested in paintless dent repair / removal training then this article will be for you. So check it out and hope you like it.
Learning paintless dent removal correctly not only involves time but a lot of patience. This article is about a trainee I trained early last year along with his partner Alex which I will talk about later in another article. This video you are about to watch or already did, is about a very complex deep ding / dent. When I teach someone how to learn the art of paintless dent removal, it's not about just pushing and tapping. There is a big philosophy to it and an important procedure.
Besides the philosophy and procedure (technique), there are the tools. Tools are a third of the solution or the problem for many who can't figure out how to finish. Understanding the capabilities of what your tools can really do, help you become a much better and efficient paintless dent repair technician. As you see in this video (continued article from link below), Fotis understands the the pdr technique, is patient and comprehends his tool usage well. With the combination of all three techniques being put to use, the results are amazing. Please keep in mind, Fotis in this video has had no prior experience or practiced before hand.

Mercedes Benz Deep Paintless Dent Repair - PDR Training
When I saw this dent and I knew I had to at least take some photos and document my PDR process. I never get tired of taking photos of my work. Besides, it's really not work. To me it's having fun doing what I love. Paintless Dent Removal has become my passion behind marketing my passion. I also train PDR personally as well. From beginner to advanced, I share my passion and devotion to paintless dent removal and the auto reconditioning market.
Now enough about that. Let's briefly talk about this dent repair. It is quite intimidating indeed for any experienced tech. Although if you are an experienced tech, that feeling only last briefly until you begin to perform the job. Tools were essential. Wrong tools, wrong results. Although it takes more than tools to gain good results. A little patience, correctly reading the board and of coarse... experience.
I used a bladed shaved door tool (Ultra Dent Tools) to do most of the dirty work. I also used a knock down from (Dent Craft Tools) or (Dent Gear) to remove the crowns and highs. Now I can't just rush into the center. If I do, I will cause an oil can effect and then it will be a done deal, game over. I work from the top, then tap. I use this technique back n forth and switching sides in between so I keep the dent balanced.
Little by little within two hours, I have completed the job. No sanding, painting. Just one happy customer and a little satisfaction.

Body Line Dent Repair - PDR Paintless Dent Removal Training
Here we have a fairly deep dent on the body line of a 750IL BMW. As you can see when you blow click on the diagram, you'll notice the pinched lines above the center of the dent in photo #1. If you don't release pressure off the crown, you are going to have a real hard time moving the dent.
The #2 photo you'll notice the lines above the center dent are now straighter. Which indicates pressure has been removed. From here, we'll work gradually push from top to bottom into the center.
As the we work the dent towards the center, the outside surrounding area will become tighter (Photo #3). We want to knock down the outside to help relieve pressure. This helps the flexibility in the paint so we don't cause and cracking. Now it's important you are very accurate pushing. A good idea would be to use some type of protection on the tip of your tool like tape or a plastic cover.
#4 photos shows a slight high and a low. You want to keep your dent always clean as possible before you work the center. (Some cases, you can work the center direct but in this case, the dent is too deep for this method) Make sure you switch sides between pushing and knocking down so you can keep your dent balanced and clean.
#5 This photo shows that we are close after repeating steps 3 & 4. Again we are always checking from one side to the other.
#6 The final step. Cross checking is important. Stand up and move your board in all directions to catch any curvature or fade that will indicate your repair. Clean and polish.
Now this is a real basic explanation of our PDR repair. With one on one training, you'll have a much better understanding and grasp of this technique. For inquiries of PDR Training, please visit our main website. Or visit our official blog.

Line Board PDR Training Manual - Paintless Dent Repair Removal
This photo above displays some of the pages you will see in the Basic PDR Line Board Manual.
If you are considering PDR, you might want to invest in this unique and professional PDR Line Board Manual. Although, this is no substitute for actual personal training but it will help you definitely get a clear picture about the paintless dent repair atmosphere itself.
We designed this line board manual to have professional diagrams so it can assist your learning abilities. We spared no expense when it came to an appealing style to this one of a kind manual. From superior examples to detailed explanations about techniques, you'll love every thing about this basic line board manual.
Our goal when we put this line borad manual together was to help anyone who read this manual (man or woman), become familiar and also learn something. From tool uses to the basic ding repair process, we keep you on your toes and wanting more!
What this PDR Manual is About.
Obviously it's about "paintless dent repair" (PDR). But what it is actually directed towards the "line reflection." Lines are a unique pattern we use to read the dent. Most PDR techs don't use lines. Why? Obviously they weren't trained on them from the start, haven't heard about lines at all, or don't quite understand the "line board" concept. Don't get me wrong, even if you use another reflection, this manual doesn't discriminate with other PDR techs. It actually helps a PDR tech gain more skill.
Lines Are For Everyone!
When we designed this manual, we wanted everyone to understand it easily. From a newbie to a veteran PDR fog tech, we feel confident that this will be one of the best manuals ever developed for the paintless dent repair industry. You'll enjoy and appreciate the details we spent to go the extra mile so you can benefit a better learning experience no matter what level you are about.
Personal Training & Manual
Students who choose to take our personal training programs are automatically receive the Line Board Manual. Before we train our students, we send out the PDR manual 1 week before they attend. This advantage actually begins the learning process much quicker. It also gives our students an accurate insight about the line reflection, so they will know what to expect. We create an exciting manual that matches an exciting training adventure!
If you would like to purchase a Basic PDR Line Board Manual, please contact Myke Toledo at 858.699.2054. We will be adding the new product to Auto Lecture for online purchasing soon.

Paintless Dent Repair-Removal Training Curriculum
So you are thinking about paintless dent repair/removal PDR training? Did you know it takes more than 1-2 weeks just to understand what PDR is really about? Take a look at our curriculum. A lot to cover huh? We offer 4 weeks of pdr training and we'll be quite honest, you still won't know everything.
We start with the basics by covering tool usages and theories. Moving into basic ding removal, glue pulling, heat usage and eventually big dent removals. Grasping these chapters take time to learn. Dent Time believes giving the student 4 weeks not only develops good practice habits but increases your learning curve dramatically.

Advanced Paintless Dent Repair/Removal Training PDR
Although this diagram demonstrates a tactical way to remove a big dent with paintless dent repair, it is highly recommended to get professional one-on-one PDR training to gain the fullest benefits.
This PDR dent was attacked using a glue pulling method and finished off with lots of crown work and precision pushing with steel rods. We would like to stress, there were many steps between the photos to get this dent completely out. A big dent like this requires high experience and patience to get satisfactory results. We will in the future post a video of how much of a monster and challenging paintless dent repair this was.
Knowing how to remove big dents is all about knowing how to finish. If you can’t finish a small pitted ding, you won’t be able to finish a big dent. Big dents have many elements that are involved in a repair such as; crowns, trapped pressure, knocking down, tool selection, where to start and how to finish.
If you have questions about advanced paintless dent removal/repair pdr training, please either visit denttime.com or post a comment and we’ll be glad to give some feed back.

Learning Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) isn't Easy!
Are you thinking of learning or training in paintless dent repair or removal? Have you been looking around and getting information and getting the REAL FAQ's about PDR? In case you haven't, we would like to inform you the real truth about PDR training.
As easy as paintless dent removal may seem or look, it's not. Did you ever notice when somebody makes something appear so easy you think you can do it in no time? We thought so. That's because it takes time and experience to develop such a skill. It's the same with PDR. Not only does it take time to learn but more important, who you learn from and how much time you put in during and after your PDR training.
We here at Dent Time we know the many pitfalls and deceptions of paintless dent repair training. Our topic has multiple meanings about PDR not being easy. Here are a few we will discuss.
#1 Choosing the Right PDR Company for Training
BEWARE! Many so called schools try to entice you with hotel packages, free lunch, giant tool packages and accessories (we'll get to that later on another post). But what they really fail to concentrate on is the reason you're there, and that's good PDR training.
The Longer Your PDR Dent Training, The Better!
Time well spent is the essence. The longer you get to absorb what you learn the better your practice will become. Not to mention, your learning curve is much faster. Unless you are going to do advanced PDR classes, 4 weeks is the minimum you should take. Why you ask? Can you imagine learning years of experience from just one week? It's hard enough to learn in 4 weeks let alone in less. You see, if you don't give your self a chance to absorb what you learn, you'll forget in the real world. With most schools, you are totally alone after you complete your course. Fat chance of you getting a hold of the instructor when you're stuck too. There's a lot to learn.
Get a Hold of the PDR Trainer/Instructor
It's important you talk to the trainer or instructor before you actually commit your hard earned money. Bypass the sales person (Which should be a flag!) and ask for the person you are going to learn paintless dent repair from. This will tell you if they are really committed more than you! Ask lots of questions and we mean real questions.
Here are a few. Am I going to learn on all panels or just hood panels? Will I be working in the same environment/situation everyday? How much personal attention do you spend with me? How many people are going to be in my class? What is your success rate? Do you have other students that came from your school that can testify about your training? Do they have websites? Do you personally follow up on my progress after the training?
After asking these specific questions, you should have a good idea of what's to come.
Later we'll continue to post more topics about paintless dent repair training and interviews from other well respected PDR training companies.
Please feel free to ask any questions regarding your concerns and give opinions about this paintless dent repair/removal PDR training.
