San Diego - Paintless Dent Repair - Removal PDR

San Diego Paintless Dent Repair / Removal (PDR) Technique using the Glue Pulling Method

This dent was caused by a person's body running into it. As you notice the dent has a massive and tight crown above it. In order to release stress from the crown, we used the glue pulling method for this type of paintless dent repair technique. Now the easy part was pulling the dent, no big deal right? Not really. Knowing exactly where to place the tabs can be tricky sometimes but more importantly, knowing how hard to pull. We used a 5lb slide hammer to do the job. One think you don't want to do, is over stretch the area. It could have been a done deal if we did.

Next was the hard part. If you are a current PDR tech, you'll understand there is always some sort of crowns on all dents. Some are more obvious than others. It took us 3 1/2 hours to tap down this crown even when most of the stress was taken off. It's a battle back and forth. Push, knock down, push, knock down. As the dent got smaller, so did the crowns by becoming harder to identify. In these cases, we place our line reflection back further to view the waves (high and lows) that tell us what is left. We used a soft tip tap down so we did not cause tap down pits. The metal is so soft, it was like a tin can. I hate soft metal. A big dent like this can make or break you.

All in all, it turned out pretty decent and the customer was very happy. For more information please visit our official website DentTime.com
