Unfortunately during these times it seems to some the smartest thing to do is lower your prices. But realistically it's the worse thing you can do. If you plan to stay in business for a long time, certainly during your career you understand your time and experience has some sort of value. If you believe your service has value, so will your customers.
Lowering your price is only a short term fix and not a permanent solution. Not to mention, you could end up starting a snow ball effect and you and your competition will be in endless price war. Instead, promote your service as a product, not just a plain ol' auto recon / dent company. Besides, auto reconditioning is suppose to be convenient and affordable.. not cheap.
Customers rather have paid a higher price for a quality service, than a cheap and low output service. So the next time you want to charge lower because of the following; I'm not good enough to charge higher prices, I want to undercut so I can get the job, my time has no value, my experience is not worth it, I'm not confident. Then it's time to get out of the game. Don't contribute to the newbies and uneducated so called companies. Work Smarter.. Not Harder.
My famous words are always.. "Buy cheap.. buy twice."

Bentley Brooklands - Glue Pull - Paintless Dent Repair / Removal

I know it's been awhile since I posted on my blog but I have been quite busy behind the scenes. Between web site design, video promotions and training - I have been quite buried. Anyhow, I had a great opportunity to perform a glue pull on a beautiful Bentley Brooklands.
Not only did I work on it, I filmed it! And it was kinda scary as well. Working on a 3ooK plus vehicle and not really knowing for sure if my glue puller was going to pull more than just the dent..
Well fortunately it did not. I came out very successful and the dealer was very pleased too.
I don't have a release date when I will be showing the glue pull video. Heck I haven't even started the post production. My future Dent Time PDR videos will also include; A Lamborghini Gallardo and another Bentley Flying Spur with crease damage.
So if you are in San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, San Francisco or Las Vegas, give us a call at 800-420-DENT(3368) or visit our official site at www.denttime.com

New PDR Tool Product - The Ultimate Glue Cutter
I used this glue cutter to cut through that tough hard glue on a BMW 3 series last week and boy did it work well. Super sharp teeth that can easily slice open your hand, so be careful and place it away from your normal grab bag or tool case. This tool needs a special area so you don't loose a finger!
For a glue cutter, it's a little pricey but way worth the struggle and frustration you save when releasing the braces that cause the dents to stay in. I have almost busted my knuckles using other glue cutters but compared to this ultimate glue cutter, I can't complain one bit.
Here is the video about the product and you can purchase the product from AutoLecture.com

Line Board Video Training Tutorial Part 2
OK everyone, here is another free demo I did about the line board and how I remove the common door ding w/out over pushing and creating a high spot.
Always keep your dent clean and manageable. The more accurate your pushes, the less you need to knock down. Now that's not always true for deeper dings and dents. Most likely you have to over push to completely remove the center pit out. There's more to that but you'll have to wait until I finally get around to finish editing my dvds. Or you can purchase the manual I have for sale at AutoLecture.com
Anyhow, take a look and watch the video. Please post your comments. I would like to answer your questions and perhaps do a requested dent and film it.

Scoin TC - Paintless Dent Repair / Removal PDR - Stretched Dent

Here's a dent I did with one of my really good technicians Eugene Baek. This dent was way stretched than we anticipated. The metal was very soft and hard to manage. One of the key things was to use a knock down that was not too sharp. Basically use a soft tip knock down or a cherry rubber tip to remove the crowns without putting tap down pits.
There was a lot of trapped pressure too and with the sheet metal being so soft, it would not cooperate very much. You really have to look for hidden crowns way on the outside of the dent. This is where it's locked. If you don't know where to look, you'll have the utmost hardest time getting rid of the dent.
Anyhow, this is how it turned out. Not 100% but pretty close.

Chevy Nova SS Paintless Dent Repair / Removal Deep Ding

This dent was very deep indeed. No heat was used but I would recommend it if you were any where else besides sunny San Diego. For those who might not know nothing about paintless dent removal, heat is used the warm ip the panel so the paint becomes more flexible when we push.
So anyhow, I used a very sharp tool to push up and then knock down. This process was repeated back n forth for about 45 minutes. I won't get into too much detail about the process but I took a few photos to document the pdr repair.
Anyhow, I hope you like the cool ride! It's rare to work on these type of vehicles these days that were built well, not to mention pushing on real metal.
Take care!
